YES, it was … C … O … L … D last night. We were cold, but the strong and the devoted (and the bit nutty) showed up for Lake Zurich’s cruise night at Bellaluke’s parking lot.
With the temps in the 50s, the cars were running STRONG and loving the cooler weathers, but the drivers were a bit too cold and the majority stayed inside next to their loved ones and a nice and warm fireplace. I don’t know how many people I heard say ” … I remember when we got together until the SNOW started …” I guess as we age, we get less and less tolerant of the cold and prefer our hot brandy over the cool cruise nights.
Lake Zurich’s cruise night was a lot smaller than usually with under 20 cars present, but those that showed up had a fun time and enjoyed it most when a new car showed up. The motors were warm and those standing around migrated to the new arrival to warm their hands from the heat emitting from the motors. Music was from the 50s and 60s, Bellalukes food was warm and juicy and the company and conversations was the best.
We’re on a week to week basis now with the cruise nights, depending on the weather and temperatures. Next week will be the last official cruise night in Lake Zurich for the 2012 calendar year. After that it’ll be week to week until it gets too cold or the number of cruisers drops to too low numbers.
Thanks to everyone who came out last night, and we’ll see you next week in Lake Zurich. Happy Kruzin’.
