THANK YOU to EVERYONE who made last night’s Lake Zurich Main Street Cruise Night a hit!! Even though we had rain for most of the day, the rain stopped around 3 pm and we had a nice turn out of over 60 vehicles at the event which started at 6 pm. In attendance were custom hot-rodded 1930s cars, a few super cool motorcycles, all the way, to a, new-to-the-owner, Corvette ZR1 which was bought from one of the cruise night sponsors, Midwest Motors Inc.
Special feature last night was a 50/50 raffle to benefit the Lake Zurich Lions. Even though the overall cruiser turnout was a bit small, we collected $158 at the 50/50 raffle. The winner who was supposed to take home $79, graciously donated the winnings back to the Lions. Thank you to the father/son for their donation. ALL $158 dollars went to the Lake Zurich Lions who help financially strapped kids and parents from the local community with glasses and hearing aids. The proceeds will be used to actually pay for the glasses and hearing aids and is not given to the families but instead sent as payment to the companies who provide the glasses and hearing aids to the kids in need. The Lake Zurich Lions also accept donations of old prescription glasses and glass cases/pouches. If you have any you can part with, bring them to the next Lake Zurich Main Street Cruise Night and we’ll make sure we get them to the Lions.
Lastly, a BIG shout out to Craig Taylor who became Lake Zurich Cruise Night’s newest sponsor. Craig is a Lake County Board Member who is responsible for the SouthWest Lake County area. He has an e-mail newsletter that anyone can sigh up for, that provides road closures and community information for the entire area. You can sign up for his newsletter by clicking here. Thank you Craig!!!
We look forward to seeing everyone next month, on July 2nd for our next show. Photos of the cars and trophy winners are below. Please don’t forget the Father’s Day Car Show put on by the North Shore Corvette Club at Libertyville Chevrolet on June 14th. Click here to see the flyer for additional information.
